USRA and the Lunar and Planetary Institute invite the public to Golden Spike and Human Lunar Expeditions: For All Mankind, a presentation by Gerry Griffin and Daniel Stern. This free public presentation on Thursday, October 3, 2013 is part of the Workshop on Golden Spike Human Lunar Expeditions: Opportunities for Intensive Lunar Scientific Exploration. The public presentation begins at 7:30 P.M.

The Golden Spike Company was formed to create a human lunar transportation system capable of providing Apollo-like lunar surface exploration capabilities to space and science agencies around the world, from corporate lunar transportation to space tourism. This presentation will describe the company; its background, plans, and business model; and the architecture and capabilities that Golden Spike expeditions will offer. The lecture will be followed by Q&A.

Gerry Griffin is the Chairman of the Board of Golden Spike, former Apollo Flight Director, former Director of NASA Johnson Space Center, and former head of the Greater Houston Chamber of Commerce. Dr. Alan Stern is the President and CEO of Golden Spike, a planetary scientist, former head of all NASA science missions, and a “Time Magazine 100″ honoree.

The Golden Spike public presentation begins at 7:30 P.M. No reservation is necessary. LPI is located in the USRA building at 3600 Bay Area Boulevard in the Clear Lake region of Houston; the entrance is located on Middlebrook Drive.
