Johnson Space Center Astronomical Society Meeting

Join us this Friday night, March 10th, as Dr. Heather Surtain, from University of Houston (where she currently teaches Solar System Science), will give a presentation on "Neptune's Moon, Triton". She'll cover Triton's geology, atmosphere and its peculiar orbit. This will be a great chance to learn about a poorly understood world. We hope you'll join us.

Our other talks will be: "Astro Oddities", the informative Member's Minutes, "What's Up in the Sky This Month?", a calendar of this year's Upcoming Star Parties (including this month's trip out to our dark site at Ft. McKavett), and the Novice Q&A where you get to ask us questions about astronomy!

JSCAS is open to anyone who wants to learn about astronomy and membership is FREE! (It's the best offer money can't buy!) After joining, you'll have access to our amazing Astronomy DVD Library with 100's of choices to learn from (from Astronomy Magazine, NASA, The Great Courses, Discovery Channel, etc.). Our meetings are held on the 2nd Friday of each month at 7:30 pm in the lecture hall of the USRA Bldg. (3600 Bay Area Blvd. at Middlebrook Dr., aka The Lunar & Planetary Institute) Pizza and refreshments follow at Mr. Gatti's Pizza at El Camino Real and Bay Area Blvd. For more info, see our website at jscas.net

Note to all those who have borrowed DVDs from the JSCAS Media Library: PLEASE BRING THEM BACK AT THE BEGINNING & DURING THE BREAK AT THIS MEETING. YES, you can check them out again...or acquire new ones!
