Johnson Space Center Astronomy Society Meeting

Can the Moon's inside composition tell us how it was formed? Dr. Walt Keifer of the Lunar & Planetary Institute (LPI) knows, and he'll be presenting "GRAIL Explores the Moon's Interior" at the September meeting of JSCAS. And he'll also be on hand to answer your questions about our luminous satellite.

Our other entertaining talks are: "What's Up In the September Sky", to help find noteworthy objects in the nighttime sky, the impressive "Astro Oddities", the "Novice Q & A Session" for YOUR questions to our membership, and the informative Member's Minutes. (They've been super impressive here of late.) There is also a preview of our upcoming star parties. (Our dark site trip is next month!...info abounds!)

JSCAS is open to anyone who wants to learn about astronomy and membership is FREE! After joining, you'll have access to our Loaner Telescopes and our amazing Astronomy DVD Library with 100's of choices to learn from (produced by Astronomy Magazine, NASA, Discovery Channel, etc.). Our meetings are held on the 2nd Friday of each month at 7:30 pm in the lecture hall of the USRA Bldg. (3600 Bay Area Blvd. at Middlebrook Dr.) Pizza and refreshments and further discussions follow at Mr. Gatti's at El Camino Real and Bay Area Blvd. For more info, see our website at jscas.net

Note to all those who have borrowed DVDs from the JSCAS Media Library: THE DVD LIBRARY WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE FOR THIS MEETING...so feel free to keep your DVDs until the next meeting. However, if you wish to turn them in, feel free to do so.
