Inquisitive adults are invited to attend the presentation Black Holes
Inside and Out by Dr. Andrew Hamilton of the University of Colorado at
Boulder. This free public presentation on June 13th is part of the
Cosmic Explorations Speaker Series at the Lunar and Planetary Institute
(LPI). Dr. Hamilton's presentation is the final presentation in this
year's series, "A User's Guide to the Universe: You Live Here. Here's
What You Need to Know."

Dr. Andrew Hamilton joined the faculty at the University of Colorado in
1986. He is currently a professor in the Department of Astrophysical &
Planetary Sciences, and a Fellow and Chair of JILA (formerly the Joint
Institute for Laboratory Astrophysics). He has worked in a variety of
fields of astrophysics, including supernovae, cosmology, and most
recently black holes. His visualizations of black holes have appeared in
several TV documentaries, the internet, and in an immersive digital dome
show "Black Holes: The Other Side of Infinity" that has been distributed
to over a hundred digital planetaria worldwide. You can learn more about
Dr. Hamilton on his website at http://casa.colorado.edu/~ajsh/.

LPI's Cosmic Explorations presentation begins at 7:30 p.m. and will be
followed by a light reception. No reservation is necessary. LPI is
located in the USRA building at 3600 Bay Area Boulevard in the Clear
Lake region of Houston; the entrance is located on Middlebrook Drive.
The Lunar and Planetary Institute is part of the Universities Space
Research Association (USRA).

Important Note About Parking - Limited visitor parking is available at
the USRA building for public lecture attendees, so once the visitor
parking section is full, attendees are asked to park in the University
Baptist Church (UBC) parking lot
<http://www.lpi.usra.edu/meetings/UBC_parking_map.pdf> . A shuttle bus
will run throughout the event to take attendees to and from their cars.
Directions from Bay Area Boulevard: Turn left on Middlebrook Drive and
continue 0.4 miles. The UBC parking lot will be on the right, just past
Glenshannon Drive. There are plenty of parking spaces available for
event attendees, and signs will be posted at the shuttle pickup and drop
off location at the north side of the lot.
